Kinzie Sweet BBQ Hummus Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 (15 oz) can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed (or low-boiled from dry for extra creaminess)
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2–3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Kinzie Sweet BBQ Sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2–3 tbsp cold water (adjust for consistency)
Optional for garnish:
- Drizzle of olive oil
- Extra swirl of Kinzie Sweet BBQ Sauce
- Chopped cucumbers
- Chopped herbs
Instructions
- Prep the beans: If using canned, rinse thoroughly. For a smoother texture, low-boil the beans for 5 minutes and let cool slightly.
- Blend: In a food processor or blender, combine garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, Kinzie Sweet BBQ Sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Adjust texture: Add cold water one tablespoon at a time while blending until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Serve: Scoop into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and more Kinzie Sweet BBQ Sauce if desired. Garnish with toppings and serve with crackers, pita chips, veggies, or as a sandwich spread.
